In many live situations, ambient sound is a big problem. That's why a supercardioid polar pattern was chosen for the OD505. This optimally fades out unwanted interference and focuses on the voice. Elements such as drums or other loud instruments in the immediate vicinity are not additionally amplified by the vocal microphone.

Austrian Audio's Open Acoustic sound remains present over the radio transmission.
