La Les Paul™ Custom de 1968 se distinguait de ses prédécesseurs des années 1950 sur plusieurs points significatifs. Et enfin, il avait un angle de tête de cheville de 14 degrés pour réduire la tension des cordes. Cet ensemble de fonctionnalités est instantanément devenu le nouveau standard pour le modèle Les Paul Custom, qui est depuis produit continuellement par Gibson. Cette Les Paul Custom Reissue de 1968 a été conçue pour donner le dernier mot en matière d'exactitude, de tonalité et de sensation historiques.
