Hand-built in Canada by TL Pedals, this pedal is a faithful take on the classic original Big Box RAT circuit. It delivers the aggressive, gritty distortion character associated with vintage RAT pedals, ranging from crunchy overdrive to saturated distortion and fuzz-like textures, with strong sustain and a responsive playing feel.
This version uses the classic three-control RAT layout and an LM308N op-amp, with a two-way clipping modification that adds an alternate asymmetric Schottky-diode clipping option for a more compressed response, thicker sustain and additional low harmonics.
