Byron "Mr. TalkBox" Chambers is a Grammy-recognized artist whose talk box talents have lent unmistakable, expressive power to some of the defining gospel, funk, R&B, and pop records of the modern era. When he wanted a device made specifically to elevate his silky smooth, electro grooves, he came to MXR.

We held nothing back building the MXR Mr. TalkBox Signature Talk Box. You get more power, more headroom, more control over your voice, and better articulation of each sound over a low end that stays thick and full. This is a professional-grade talk box tailor-made for keyboardists and guitarists who want to speak through their instrument, straight from the soul.

SAY IT LOUD
Like the M222 MXR Talk Box, this pedal comes with its own amp and speaker driver—no need to lug around a separate rig or patch into your amp’s speaker output. But we swapped from a ferrite to a lightweight neodymium driver, allowing us to go bigger for better handling of the low end without weighing you down. We upgraded the amp, too, from 10 to 25W for increased headroom and improved dynamic response, resulting in even better articulation of vowels and consonants while keeping every note thick and full.

TUNE IT TO YOUR VOICE
Volume, Tone, and Gain controls allow you to shape your voice and make it your own. The Tone control retains the musical tilt EQ response of the M222 but, along with the Gain control, takes on a more aggressive voice when cranked. Whether you’re channeling Byron’s own sound on “24K Magic” or going for anything from “Computer Love” to “Livin’ on a Prayer,” the Mr. TalkBox Signature Talk Box allows you to express yourself in the most honest way possible.

PLAY IT YOUR WAY
Want to run your amp signal alongside that of the talk box? This pedal puts the choice in your hands with a Mute toggle switch. When set to mute, your instrument signal will play through the tube as normal but not through the pedal’s output to your amp. When unmuted, though, you’ll get the output coming through both. Very handy for players who want a thicker, more complex sound or simply a smoother transition between passages with and without the talk box effect.

ON THE LEVEL
Keyboard players often run hotter signals, so we equipped the Mr. TalkBox Signature Talk Box with a Gain Bypass switch that routes your signal around the pedal’s preamp stage and clipping diodes. Headroom is ample as it is, but in case you’re really running hot, this switch helps keep everything under control. Guitar players can also take advantage of this feature if they want to drive the power amp with their own pedal stack.

PORTABLE & POWERFUL
Like the M222, the Mr. TalkBox Signature Talk Box is compact enough to fit right on your desktop or pedalboard. It’s ruggedly built yet lightweight, so you can take it anywhere you need to go with confidence. Includes an 18-volt power supply, an 8' tube, and a mic stand clip.
