PRS Core Serie - What makes it special.

PRS Core Serie - What makes it special.

PRS Core - Ever heard of it?

Let's face it, there is a new massive player in the guitar industry. Although Gibson and Fender guitars are still well endowed with a long term history and countless devoted players, PRS's innovative perspective just hit the target right in the middle for the modern players

Modern needs are met.

In terms of high quality guitars, every bit of the PRS Core series will be a delight for your hands and ears. The company jumps right in the 21st century needs of most modern day players, starting with their hybrid 85/15 pickup set. The 85/15 set offers a myriad of great tone mixing the traditional Humbucker as well as the Single Coils they are all controlled by a five-way switch. PRS capabilities became far more obvious with their innovative 24-08 set of pickups in which you really get the best of both worlds. A great advantage for all those players who are seeking versatility. Speaking of versatility, the multiple arrangements of the different pickups are a direct way for new original guitar tones. It is worth noting that the Core series provide both 22 and 24 frets options.

It’s all about the feel!

Ever since PRS debut model in 1985, the now legendary Custom 24 rhymes with ergonomic greatness. The PRS core series provides one round and comfortable neck shape (Pattern Thin) which offers comfort and playability, even for fast players.
On the other hand, some Core series feature some other neck patterns such as; regular pattern, vintage pattern (both available on the McCarty models). All necks are made of mahogany wood for warm, yet punchy sounds!
Most models have a body made of Mahogany wood on the back and carved figured maple on top. Lastly, this great construction is so lightweight, it is shocking. Now, think about those nice Hollowbody models available... Shocking!

Conclusion

While we still have an attachment to the more traditional guitar models (Les Pauls or Telecasters for example), the PRS Core series joins the all mighty realms of top of the art guitars. If you are looking for alternatives with no compromises on any aspects, you certainly won’t be disappointed. If you are on budget, we suggest you try PRS SE series (and watch our video on the SE series). For budget friendly series, you would be amazed how close you could get from the Core ones.
